TK is a very special time when children experience great social, emotional, and cognitive growth and I am thrilled to be a part of it. Teaching and working with children has always brought me so much joy. I enjoy teaching children fundamentals and watching them flourish and grow over the year.
The last two years I was a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Education Department at Fulton Junior High School (Belleville, IL). Over the last three years I lived in Belleville, Illinois due to my husband’s job at Scott Air Force Base. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, graduated from Garces Memorial High School, received my Bachelor’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and I am currently working on my Multiple Subject Credential/Masters in Teaching. I now live in Bakersfield with my husband, 5 amazing kids, and 2 dogs. Aside from teaching, I enjoy being outdoors, coaching/playing soccer, and spending time with my family.
In our classroom, the daily activities are carefully planned to encourage independence and self- confidence through large group, small group, and one-on-one participation. In our classroom, we strive for the love of learning to be the key to success. I want every student to feel safe, cared about, and excited when they come to school each day! Over the past couple of years, I became very aware of the impact teachers have on the lives of their students, more so now than ever. I am big on parent – teacher communication and believe that in order to make sure what is best for each child, the communication between myself and each of you plays a huge role. My goal as an educator is to spark the curiosity in the minds of students. I want each child to enjoy learning and strive to learn more. I plan on making learning exciting and want the children to want more. I not only want them to grow and flourish academically but socially and emotionally as well.
With everything going on in the world right now, I believe a faith-based school/curriculum will help your child tremendously. Having the ability to not only receive the best education but also receiving one that is built around Christ will have an impact on your child’s upbringing.
