First Grade Teacher
My name is Sarah Araujo and I am the First Grade teacher here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from CSUB in 2005 and completed my multiple subject California teaching credential 2015. In 2017 I obtained my Masters of Education degree with an emphasis in best practices in. In addition to being a teacher, I also attend Mass at OLPH and have four beautiful children that also attend school here. Outside of the classroom, you can find me spending time with my family. I enjoy being outdoors, especially at the beach, and love to read.
First grade is an exciting year as students become more confident at school and grow in their academic abilities. Students will learn new math concepts, improve their reading skills, and expand their writing techniques. We perform lots of science experiments and learn about our world in social studies. Religion is integrated into every subject and we begin preparing for the beautiful Sacraments of First Reconciliation and Eucharist. We attend computer technology classes, music, and have daily P.E. Above all, students learn that with God as the center of our lives, it is possible to achieve anything.
